Mama Gs Spaghetti

Ingredients

  • 1 packet spaghetti 
  • 700g beef mince
  • 1 large onion finely diced
  • 3 crushed garlic cloves
  • 200g sliced button mushrooms
  • 1 heaped tablespoon mixed italian herbs (oregano, thyme, basil)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar 
  • 2 cans crushed tomatoes
  • 2 heaped tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 1/2 cup sliced kalamata olives (dont add salt until the very end as the olives will bring out the saltiness)

Method

  • Cook off the onions in olive oil, add mince & cook until browned.
  • Add your mushrooms & cook for another minutes until softened before adding Italian herbs & garlic.
  • Now add the tomato paste & cook it off for a minute before adding crushed tomatoes & sugar. Add the beef stock & a handful of basil leaves, simmer gently on low for 30min until sauce thickens slightly.
  • Add the olives at the end and check for seasoning. 
  • Add the pasta & gently stir through.
