Ingredients
- 1 packet spaghetti
- 700g beef mince
- 1 large onion finely diced
- 3 crushed garlic cloves
- 200g sliced button mushrooms
- 1 heaped tablespoon mixed italian herbs (oregano, thyme, basil)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 cans crushed tomatoes
- 2 heaped tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 cups beef stock
- 1/2 cup sliced kalamata olives (dont add salt until the very end as the olives will bring out the saltiness)
Method
- Cook off the onions in olive oil, add mince & cook until browned.
- Add your mushrooms & cook for another minutes until softened before adding Italian herbs & garlic.
- Now add the tomato paste & cook it off for a minute before adding crushed tomatoes & sugar. Add the beef stock & a handful of basil leaves, simmer gently on low for 30min until sauce thickens slightly.
- Add the olives at the end and check for seasoning.
- Add the pasta & gently stir through.
