Ingredients
- 1kg thinly sliced sirloin steak
- 1 small onion
- 1 small green capsicum
- 200g sliced mushrooms
- 1 packet French onion soup mix
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper & salt to taste
- Mayonnaise for spreading
- Sliced Swiss or Provolone cheese, can sub for shredded mozzarella
- Fresh bread rolls
Method:
- First slice your steak against the grain, for best results freeze for 30 minutes to aid in slicing.
- In some olive oil fry steak until only just browned, set aside.
- In the same pan melt some butter & add the mushrooms, onions & capsicum. Cook for a few minutes until they take on some colour & start caramelising before adding the steak back in.
- Add the French onion soup mix, black pepper, salt if needed, Worcestershire sauce & mix. Top with cheese, cover until melted.
- Add to buns with mayonnaise. Enjoy!
